Collection Trials
Agsafe is the service provider and manager of bagMUSTER®, an initiative developed by CropLife Australia in partnership with the Australian Seed Federation for the recycling of agricultural input product bags, including those used to distribute seed, stockfeed, pesticide and fertiliser to end-users. Our initial goals are based on the collection and recycling of product transported in polypropylene (PP) bags ranging from the 5kg product bags to large bulka bags.

Delivering bags to a collection site
Like drumMUSTER where drums are triple rinsed prior to dropping them off at a collection site, an important part of bagMUSTER® will be how the bags are prepared prior to dropping them to a collection point, particularity bulka bags.
Contamination in the bags is a problem for recyclers.
-
Shake as much of existing residue out of the bag as possible
-
Remove any liners that are not made from Polypropylene
-
Prior to taking the bags to a collection site, store them so they won’t get wet or muddy
-
Roll, fold or bale the bags where possible
Recycling of the bags
All bags collected in the bagMUSTER® trials will be transported to approved bagMUSTER® processors in either Melbourne or Brisbane.
